(wanted to come back as I have two friends that want to try it out for the first time and both of them are having this issue, one with a newly built machine and another with an older Ryzen 1700/1080ti machine) I had unsubbed due to this issue a while back and sad to see this still isn't resolved. ![]() And it’s frustrating both to the developer and to the end user because we believe that the bug is real and is negatively impacting people, we just don’t have the time to spelunker through the whole codebase looking for code that might cause the problem. If I can’t see the environment state that caused the failure, I can’t account for whatever condition is broken and so I can’t fix anything. With randomness like that, it’s extremely hard to replicate, which means they can’t easily track it.Īs a developer myself, I know that not having the steps to replicate a bug makes working on it a non-starter. I’d go weeks without a crash, and then I would crash 6-7 times in a single night, and there was no pattern I could find to it. I could have FFXIV as the only thing open, idling in my FC house and staring at a wall and it would crash with the DX11 error every 30s, and I could have a dozen Chrome tabs, Discord, and Netflix all going while I went through Copied Factory and it would be completely stable. When it hit me, it didn’t seem to matter what I was doing or what was happening elsewhere on the system. The biggest problem with this issue is its random nature. I remember seeing somewhere that SE favors Nvidia, so that would leave AMD to try and figure out what’s going on. I do wonder if there isn’t some intermittent issue with AMD GPUs and/or CPUs. Now, with the latest drivers and BIOS, I’m generally stable. Tried a million different things, but it didn’t fully resolve until I upgraded my CPU to Ryzen 5 3600, and fully reinstalled Windows to make sure there were absolutely no traces of old drivers. I was having these issues on a Rypaired with an RX 5700 XT.
